The clipboard is a temporary storage area used to Cut, Copy and Paste items from one area to another. You may cut or copy whole item such as transitions, photos or album thumbnails, or selected parts of photos to the clipboard. Examples include copying a slide from one slide show to another, or cutting a section of you photo for pasting into other photos or projects. The tools reside at the top of the Work area on the Command bar (highlighted below). The Command bar functions are accessible from the Photos, Projects, Albums and Slide Show activities. The functions can also be accessed from the menus, or by keyboard combination.

Cut - click this tool to cut the selected area, photo, thumbnail or prop to the Clipboard. Alternatively, click Cut on the Edit menu, or press the CTRL+X keyboard combination. If you cut an area from a photo, the area will be cut to the clipboard, leaving a white space in the photo. |

Copy - click this tool to copy the selected area, photo, thumbnail or object to the Clipboard. Alternatively, click Copy on the Edit menu, or press the CTRL+C keyboard combination. |

Paste - click this tool to paste the selected area, photo, thumbnail or object from the Clipboard to the work area. Alternatively, click Paste on the Edit menu, or press the CTRL+V keyboard combination. |
Using the Clipboard in the Photos activity:
Use any of the selection tools to select an area of your photo for cutting or copying to the Clipboard. Once cut or copied, the area can then be pasted into another photo or project.
Using the Clipboard in the Projects activity:
Use the Clipboard to cut or copy props or other objects from one project to another, or from a project to a photo.
Using the Clipboard in the Album or Slide Show activity:
Use the Clipboard to cut or copy a photo thumbnail from one album to another, or to copy transitions or slides to another location. You can also copy album thumbnails into a slide show.
